Summer Acoustic Series

We'll be starting our Summer Acoustic Series next month. May 15th Adam Carroll & I will swap songs @ the Farm. In June we'll have Ryan Beaver. In July, Susan Gibson and in August, Owen Temple. New Years Eve

Hey ya'll, we're playing a New Year's Eve Bash in Tyler. It's at the Lone Star Event's Center just off the East Loop. Shinebox, another great band is playing the gig with us. The party is BYOB and they have set ups and snacks. The price is $30.00 a person or $50.00 a couple. That's pretty hard to beat on New Years with two bands. So everybody come out and party with us. Owen and I have done a number of gigs together and he's great and, a lot of fun. These acoustic gigs have turned out to be some of the best entertainment in East Texas. 100 to 200 people with lawn chairs and great singer/songwriters. Bootleggers gig canceled

First, thanks to all who came out Friday night for my song swap with Houston Marchman. The crowd was great and I think they enjoyed the music and had a good time. Houston and I had a great time.

Sorry to say that was turning out to be really good Texas Music venue has closed. We had a full band gig scheduled there this weekend and now it won't happen. Hopefully we can find another venue around here to do a full band show at several times a year.

House Concerts

It's been quite a while since I posted but here's what's going on. We played a private party for 650 people last weekend and it was really a kick. Thanks to the Flowers-Davis Law Firm for showing us a great time and having us play their annual crawfish boil. Great food, cold beer, of course great music and even a fireworks show. Along with Tony Marsh, our uncomparable guitar player, we had Richard Raines of Shinebox and Perfect Stranger play guitar and mandolin. We also used fiddle for the first time in a live show. Kevin Carter came up from Lufkin and man is he good. He's a sometimes player with Gene Watson. Cameron Holley came up from Austin to play bass and fell in like he played with us every night. Thanks to all those guys.

Acoustic song swaps begin this month. April 25th Susan Gibson is coming up to play with me. She is always fun and a wonderfuly songwriter. Most people know her from her Dixie Chicks hit, Wide Open Spaces, but she has written a lot of other great songs. She has a new CD coming out so we'll hear some new stuff. I have few new ones to try out as well.

Next month Adam Carroll is coming back and I'm really looking forward to playing with him. Then, in June Houston Marchman is coming. This is a real treat since Houston was really instrumental in getting me started. And, in July my friend Owen Temple is coming. All of these great songwriters have new CDs so keep an eye on the calendar and don't miss any of these acoustic shows.
